an introduction to Rachel Starr Thomson and Carolyn Joy Currey

Rachel Starr Thomson is a homeschool graduate and the oldest of twelve children. Her parents encouraged her to become a writer, so she did! In Tales, she had the pleasure of writing about them. Rachel has published several of her books through Little Dozen Press, including fiction and devotional writing.

Rachel is an incurable tea-drinker and a lover of poetry, good fiction, long walks, and the fellowship of God’s people.

Rachel is the daughter of Jay and Suzanne Thomson and the proud older sister of Becky, Deborah, Leah, Naomi, Jimmy, Micaiah, Jonathan, Tirzah, Keturah, Anna, and Tabithah.

Carolyn Joy Currey is also a homeschool graduate and the oldest of eight. At the age of ten she entered the world of ballet, and today is a professional dancer and a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance. She teaches out of her own studio, Daybreak Dance Studio, and ministers with the performing company Soli Deo Gloria Ballet. When she isn’t dancing she can often be prevailed upon to write, usually something amusing and centering on her family.

Carolyn loves reading, mountains, long words and the gospel of Jesus Christ. She once taught herself Elvish and is known for succumbing to baking fits twice a year.

Carolyn is the daughter of Dave and Cathie Currey and the proud older sister of Janice, Dana, Christa, Sara, Andrew, Naomi, and Elyssa.
